Walkin’ and talkin’
My hope for this campaign, naturally, is to make your life better.
I want your air to be cleaner, your water less scarce and your energy cheaper.
But in addition to that, I hope to educate.
There are so much false information floating around about energy —clean or otherwise.
In addition, the rules for the SRP Board and Council elections are strange, confusing and about as easy to remember as the lyrics to REM’s “It’s the End of the World As We Know It”.
(How’s that for dating myself as solidly Gen X?)
My commitment between now and April is to demystify. With entertaining, digestible wonky little nuggets of policy gold I hope to help you see how utility energy decisions affects you every day —and how you can affect them back.
I want to make the SRP voting system more approachable, too. Those rules seem more out of place than a turducken on National Ice Cream Day and more dated than a Model T at an electric auto show.
But it’s important.
Here’s the part where people tell me to give you a call to action.
Here it is.
I’m asking you to just check in.
If you watch every mercifully short video and/or every quick explainer blog post, you’ll walk away with a much better understanding of this crazy world of energy that touches you every minute of every day.
You’ll be the center of attention of your next cocktail party.
Okay, maybe not. But you’ll be empowered.
And that’s what I’m hoping for.
Please become a charter supporter of my campaign with a contribution at this link.
Thank you!!
