The terrible conditions that we all learned about last year at the recently-named Department of Child Safety have not improved much.
Yet a study called the Chapin-Hall Report commissioned last year by our Republican legislature and released three months ago told legislative leaders that we must:
1) reduce caseloads of social workers and;
2) invest in preventative measures to keep children out of the system in the first place.
Help me send a message to the governor and legislative leaders. Please sign this petition today asking Governor Ducey and legislative leaders to implement the recommendations of the Chapin-Hall Report
Then, please forward the petition on to at least one friend.
Arizona's vulnerable children did not create the conditions that lead to their suffering. Politicians did that and only voters can make it better.
Governor Ducey and Legislative Leadership;
This last June the Chapin-Hall Report made it clear that we need to fully fund staff at DCS and invest in preventative services in order to reduce caseloads and reduce costs to the entire system
This report was commissioned by the legislature and its recommendations are clear. Arizona is far behind other states in how it protects children and the implementation of these recommendations have been proven around the country to improve our protective services.
Please implement the recommendations of the Chapin-Hall report, in full so we can finally give Arizona's children the protection that they deserve.
The alternative has and will continue to cost us too much.
